General Cleaning Instructions for Biometric Clocks
Summary
This document addresses work instructions for proper cleaning and sanitizing techniques for biometric clocks.
Cleaning Supplies Needed
- 2 microfiber cleaning cloths
- Ammonia or vinegar-based cleaner like Windex
Steps to Clean
- Perform a full sync of the clock and when complete, unplug the clock from its power source.
- Spray 1 microfiber cloth with an ammonia-based cleaner (do not saturate).
- Wipe the surface of the clock and platen; take care as not to push hard on the clock.
- Immediately dry the surface with the 2nd microfiber cloth.
- Plug the clock back in to its power source and perform a test punch/transaction.
To ensure long life and accurate employee transactions it is recommended that hand sanitizer only be used after the use of the clock. Doing so prior may impact an employee’s ability to interact with a clock and in some cases may cause damage that would not be covered under a warranty or maintenance agreement.
By following the steps above to clean your clock hardware, you will ensure a clean and safe environment for all of your employees.
